Chloe has been working with the process of typesetting this year as part of her research for her fourth and final year of a Fine Arts degree at Canterbury Universtiy, majoring in graphic design. She used old-fashioned typesetting, or letterpress to design this graphic for Kingswood Skis.
"I really like not only the quality the old wooden and metal blocks produce on paper and the amount of work that goes into setting everything up. Letterpress makes you consider what is important and what is not."
"When I set out on this topsheet mission I decided I wanted to use the letterpress to create images out of the word 'Kingswood'- the one word that is so associated with the style and everything that goes into making these hand made beauties. Kingswood top sheets in the past have been very original in their stylistic simplicity and I didn't want to stray too far from this tradition. It goes with the theme of letterpress: back to the basics brothers!
