As a kid, Rich Harries was always told he could draw, at six he went skiing for the first time. Now, Rich is a Graphic Designer with a serious ski itch. His design took out the People's Choice Award in our Topsheet Design Contest. The Welshman first discovered Kingswood while skiing in Ohau, New Zealand. When he came across a man with all black skis.

"I managed to persuade him to give me a go and my Kingswood story began.

"The idea behind my design was the desire to create a design that complimented the traditional solid colour topsheets of Kingswood skis. The high gloss finish with the minimal clean typeset really stands out from the crowd -  I didn’t want to loose this feature. I decided to compliment this with a strong geometric pattern, flipping it up from one ski to the other. The angle of the stripe and the colour gradients gives a dynamic appeal and with the gloss black background gives some real pop to the design. I feel I have created a design that is still clearly Kingswood but added a little flair."
